Instructions for Applying to the RN-B.S.N. Program

Go to:

admissions.psu.edu  Click  Apply

You are applying as a transfer student. You are applying for the "B.S.N. in Nursing at Penn State Abington"

Step 1 and 2

Complete profile and academic history sections.

Step 3 – Program of Study

  • Type of Degree:  4 year Baccalaureate
  • Select starting Semester
  • Build Your Program of Study
    • Select Major – Nursing for RNs. You are applying for the "BS in Nursing at Penn State Abington"
    • Select Campus Location – Abington
    • When it asks if you have your RN license, select Yes.  (You will need to pass you NCLEX to participate in the Pathways program. Your offer of admission will be on hold until the license is received. Do not delay your application. Admission can be deferred if you do not pass the NCLEX.)

Step 4 – Additional Information

Complete information that applies to you. You do not need to add personal activities, personal statement or educational gap statement.

Step 5 – Review

After you have reviewed your application and when you get to the application fee payment page, DO NOT CLICK to submit your application. If you click submit, you will need to pay the $65 application fee. In order to receive a fee waiver, you must not click to submit your application. Instead, log out of MyPennState and send an email to Jennifer Bona (jab1053@psu.edu) requesting a fee waiver.

Once your fee waiver is processed, we will send an email back to you letting you know that you can now log back in and click to SUBMIT your application.

Step 6 – Send Official Transcripts to Penn State

Request that all of your official transcripts (High School, College, Nursing School) be sent to Penn State at the address below.

All electronic transcripts should be sent to admissions@psu.edu

You will send your Nursing School transcript after you graduate, if applicable.

Offers of admission will be sent after all official transcripts (high school, college and Nursing School) have been received by Penn State.
Once you are offered admission, you must accept your offer electronically and you will need to pay a $230 acceptance fee. ($100 of that fee will be applied to your first tuition bill.)

You can track your application anytime by logging into your MyPennState account.

Step 7 – Nursing License

Once you have passed the NCLEX, Penn State will need a copy of your license.

You can send that to Judy Ahern (JSA16@psu.edu).

You must pass the NCLEX in order to start the Nursing courses.


Steps to apply for students who were previously enrolled in a degree program at Penn State more than three years ago:

Step 1 - Complete the Undergraduate Re-enrollment Form located on this site:

University Registrar Re-enrollment website

and return it to the Camp Registrar in room 121 Sutherland Building.

Step 2 - $20 non-refundable re-enrollment fee is required to initiate the request.
