Confidentiality and Ethical Expectations

While being a member of the Penn State Abington Student Conduct Board is a wonderful opportunity to make a positive contribution to the Abington Campus community, this opportunity comes with a great amount of responsibility. As a member of the Board, you represent yourself as well as the Board as a whole. As such, it is extremely important you understand and agree to the following expectations:

  • I understand the expectation that all Penn State Abington Student Conduct Board proceedings be kept completely confidential
  • I understand the nature and/or student status is not to be discussed outside of a Student Conduct Board proceeding
  • I understand, if I am unable to render an unbiased decision, I have a responsibility to remove /excuse myself from any Student Conduct Board proceeding
  • I understand the vote of each member of the Student Conduct Board is confidential and should not be discussed outside of the proceeding
  • I understand the decisions of the Student Conduct Board are assumed to be the decision of the Student Conduct Board as a whole. Once a decision has been made, all members, even those who dissent, are expected to remain supportive
  • I understand, as a Student Conduct Board member, I have a responsibility to remain in good standing with the University; and should refrain from becoming involved in activities that would lessen my credibility or the credibility of the Student Conduct Board as a whole
