Dr. Mills will discuss John Ford's 1940 prize-winning adaptation of John Steinbeck's study of the Great Depression and its devastating effect on American families and individuals, spurring the migration of thousands of Okies to California. Henry Fonda portrays the young man who evolves from a two-bit criminal into an idealistic political leader.
