Penn State Capital Day 2013

Help tell the Penn State story by joining alumni and students in Harrisburg, Pa., for a "Rally in the Rotunda" and meetings with Pennsylvania legislators during Penn State Capital Day.

What is Capital Day?

Penn State Capital Day aims to share with state legislators the importance of continued state support for the University-during the heart of the Pennsylvania budgeting season-and to remind them of all the good things Penn State does for the Commonwealth. The 1:00 p.m. rally will bring volunteers together on the steps of the main Capitol rotunda for music, short speeches, and Berkey Creamery ice cream. Throughout the day , teams of alumni and student volunteers will visit state legislators' offices in the Capitol complex and deliver a message of support for Penn State.

Why Attend?

To help make our voices heard. Gov. Tom Corbett has proposed level state funding in 2013-14 for Penn State. That's good news, but the Commonwealth faces many budget pressures this year, and the governor's proposal needs to make it through both chambers of the state legislature to become law.
