Four Abington students named conference athletes of the week

Cross-country duo races to honors again.

Four Penn State Abington student athletes were recognized by the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) for stellar performances.

• Men’s soccer offensive player of the week: Senior forward Guy Sipka posted 11 points during two games. Sipka, a native of Liberia, leads the team in goals and points for the season.

• Women’s soccer offensive player of the week: Junior midfielder Mallory Mugnier scored four goals, setting the Abington record for most goals scored in a game. She also had an assist.

• Co-NEAC women's  cross country runner of the week: First-year student Valerie Santangelo won her second consecutive race at the Penn State Abington Invitational. This is the third week in a row that the NEAC honored Santangelo.

• Co-NEAC men's cross country runner of the week: Sophomore Alexander Kane won his second straight race at the Abington Invitational. This is the second week in a row that the NEAC honored Kane.
