Penn State President Eric J. Barron and Penn State Lehigh Valley Chancellor Tina Q. Richardson held a ribbon cutting Dec. 17 with City Center Lehigh Valley President J.B. Reilly and local dignitaries for the co-working space of Lehigh Valley LaunchBox at Velocity, City Center Lehigh Valley’s startup business incubator in downtown Allentown.

Forming a vision: President Barron travels the state

In the weeks leading up to his official appointment on May 12, Eric Barron and Penn State’s first lady, Molly Barron, have crisscrossed the Commonwealth, hearing from students, faculty, staff and community leaders at Penn State’s campuses. In every case, Barron said, he has been struck by the commitment to excellence in education, to student success and to the surrounding community.

Eric J. Barron takes the helm as Penn State's 18th president

Eric J. Barron, pictured here at his desk in Old Main, began in his new role as Penn State's 18th president on May 12. Barron was named president on Feb. 17, and has nearly 35 years of experience in academic administration, education, research and public service, as well as fiscal management within large and complex institutions.
