What should I do if I feel sick?
Penn State urges students, faculty, and staff to contact their health care provider immediately if they have respiratory symptoms with a fever and have recently traveled or think they have been exposed to COVID-19. If you are sick, stay home.

What if I do not have access to the Internet at home?
Comcast is offering an "Internet Essentials" package free for low-income customers for 60 days. To sign up, applicants can simply visit www.internetessentials.com. The accessible website also includes the option to video chat with customer service agents in American Sign Language. There are also two dedicated phone numbers 1-855-846-8376 for English and 1-855-765-6995 for Spanish. See more information.
What food pantries are available to me?
Food pantries are considered essential resources and remain open. Visit the Montco Anti-Hunger Network to find a list of local food pantry locations and their hours of operation.
If I am a student experiencing financial hardship, can I apply for Emergency Grant funds?
Yes. Emergency Grants are intended to help meet the immediate needs of students experiencing crisis situations. If you meet the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree-seeking program
- Demonstrate financial hardship due to emergency, accident, illness, or other unforeseen events
- Have exhausted alternative funding options for assistance including federal student loans
Is the Office of the Registrar at Abington open during the period in which courses are to be delivered remotely?
Yes, but you are encouraged to email ABRegistrar@psu.edu for assistance. Please do not come to campus. You will find updated information on the Abington Registrar's Page.
What if I need to talk to my academic advisor?
Contact information for your assigned advisor is in LionPATH (Icon in top right corner “My advisors” and in Starfish icon for “Network”). Email your assigned advisor. Your advisor will be able to work with you remotely over telephone, email, or a Zoom advising appointment.
If you had already scheduled an appointment with a professional advisor during this time, your appointment will be changed to a Zoom appointment. How can I get in touch with staff from Global Programs while the college is under remote instruction?

Is the Testing Center open?
No, the Testing Center is currently closed. If you had a scheduled appointment please contact your professor directly to discuss other accommodations.
I am a faculty/staff member at Penn State Abington. How does PA Gov. Tom Wolf’s March 25 “Stay at Home” order apply to me?
As we adhere to the “stay at home” order in our collective efforts to stem the spread of the coronavirus, the majority of our staff and faculty members will continue to work from home. PA Secretary of Education Rivera offered the following guidance on some limited exceptions: “under Governor Wolf’s order, personnel at our postsecondary institutions who are providing life-sustaining services, including, but not limited to: administration, food preparation and distribution, housing, security, information technology, building maintenance, and operations (e.g., payroll) can continue to be deemed essential and are permitted to continue their work, provided they adhere to social distancing guidelines.” If you have questions on whether this applies to you, please check with your supervisor.

Students are strongly discouraged from returning to the residence hall and should return home if possible during this time period.

Will students living at Lion’s Gate receive refunds?
Yes, students who were living in the Lions Gate Residence Hall will be receiving pro-rated refunds for the weeks they are not living in campus housing.
Will Federal Work Study students be paid for the rest of the semester?
Yes, Federal Work Study students will continue to be paid for the remainder of the semester, even though they are not working. Please contact your Work Study Supervisor if you have questions.
How do I know if my club/organization activity or event is canceled?
All on-campus student-sponsored events and activities, such as student organization meetings, will be postponed/canceled until further notice. This direction is applicable to all other locations, including gatherings at off-campus locations.
What will happen with Spring Commencement?
Spring commencement ceremonies will be postponed while the University explores options for celebrating the achievements of our students. These decisions align with recommendations from the federal government that call for restricting all gatherings of more than 10 people.
