Weekly scoreboard: Abington athlete earns volleyball accolades

ABINGTON, Pa. — The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) named Penn State Abington's Katharine Costello its women's volleyball "Student-Athlete of the Week." Costello helped the Nittany Lions to their first NEAC win of the season by defeating Penn State Berks 3-1.

Against Berks, Costello had 24 of Abington's 38 kills and racked up 17 digs. The first-year student also fired out 15 kills and 19 digs against the Notre Dame University of Maryland. Costello led the Nittany Lions in kills with 18 versus Penn State Harrisburg. Over two conference games, she has totaled 42 kills, 27 digs, two blocks and two aces.

Cross country (men)

The Abington men's cross country team traveled to Lancaster Bible College for the Chargers Invitational. The Nittany Lions took home a fifth place finish out of nine teams. Sophomore Ben Hoyer led Abington with a fifth place finish at 27:24 on the 8K course. 

Cross country (women)

The Abington women's cross country team traveled to Lancaster Bible College for the Chargers Invitational. Leading Abington was first-year student Meghan Hurst who earned a fourth place finish with a time of 27:00.
