2018-2019 Barnes & Noble Study Abroad Scholarship for All Majors

This scholarship is:

  • up to $500 for short-term faculty led programs;
  • up to $1,000 for semester long programs of study abroad
  • available to Penn State Abington students for study abroad and/or internships abroad through Penn State.

2018-2019 Penn State Abington Endowed Scholarships

Eligibility Criteria:

Varies based upon donors' wishes. Most scholarship awards are based on GPA and financial need.  Some awards also consider other factors such as extra-curricular involvement. Decisions are made by the Abington Scholarship Committee. Selected students are notified in June.

The scholarship application period is closed for 2018 and will re-open March 2019.

Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation Scholarship for Mature Students

Mature students who are pursuing their first bachelor’s degree, who have completed at least half of the requirements toward their intended degree, are maintaining a GPA of 2.50 or higher, and have unmet financial need are encouraged to apply.

The scholarship application period is closed for the 2018-19 academic year.

A campus scholarship committee will select approximately 20 recipients. Scholarship recipients will be awarded $2,000 - $2,500 in Spring 2019.


  • Online application (including essay) submitted by September 15, 2018
  • Adult learner status (over age 24, veterans or active-duty members of the U.S. military, or are more than four years out of high school)
  • Cumulative GPA 2.5 or higher
  • 60 or more completed credits
  • Financial need (as demonstrated in the FAFSA)

The Taub Study or Internship Abroad Scholarship in Business

The Taub Study or Internship Abroad Scholarship in Business is a $2,000 scholarship that is available for study abroad and/or internships abroad. Selection is based on merit (both GPA and required essay), with a preference for students with demonstrated financial need based on FAFSA data.

Priority must be given in the following order:

  1. Business program study abroad;
  2. Business-associated study abroad;
  3. Other study abroad programs.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Currently enrolled Penn State Abington student in Accounting, Business, or Finance
  • Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Scholarship Application with Essay
  • Recommended: Completed 18-19 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)

Deadline(s): Oct 1 for Fall semester programs; Feb 1 for Spring and Summer programs

2018-2019 Penn State Abington Trustee Scholarships

Penn State Abington – Abington Township Scholarship

Scholarship Opportunity for Abington Residents

Abington Township and Penn State Abington have partnered to offer scholarships for eligible township residents.  Up to five (5) $5,000 scholarships will be awarded for 2018-19.  The scholarship application deadline is May 1, 2018.

Eligibility Criteria:

Resident of Abington Township for a minimum of one year prior to application.

First year, transfer or current undergraduate Penn State Abington student enrolled at least half-time in a bachelor’s degree program (if enrolled half-time, scholarship amount would be half).

2.5 minimum high school GPA and 800 SAT (Reading & Math) for incoming, first year students or 2.5 minimum college GPA for transfer or current students.

Preference will be given to students with demonstrated financial need as indicated on 18-19 FAFSA.

Complete scholarship application form with a 200-250 word essay.

To apply, please complete the scholarship application (including essay) and submit to the Abington Township Manager by May 1.  Awardees will be notified in June.
