UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT), part of Penn State University Libraries, has announced the Teaching and Learning Technologies Faculty Advisory Committee for the 2024-25 academic year. The committee is pivotal in guiding TLT on integrating technology within teaching and learning at Penn State.
Committee members recommend topical focus areas for existing programs, events and strategic directions. They also advocate for teaching, learning, technology and innovation with colleagues and for discipline areas.
“The helpful feedback and experienced insights from our faculty advisory committee directly shape the faculty development that TLT offers along with providing guidance about the technologies utilized across the University,” said Amy Kuntz, TLT instructional designer. “The committee’s dedication to student success is evident in every recommendation they make, ensuring that our efforts are always aligned with the needs and goals of our learners.”
The advisory committee is comprised of passionate faculty members, enthusiastic about incorporating technology into their teaching practices as well as advocating for innovative educational approaches. The members currently serving for the 2024-2025 academic year are:
- Alison Borkowska, assistant teaching professor of health and human development, University Park.
- Chris Gamrat, assistant teaching professor of information sciences and technology, University Park.
- John Haubrick, associate teaching professor of statistics, University Park.
- Kevin Haworth, assistant teaching professor of earth and mineral sciences and Giles Writer-in-Residence, University Park.
- Kimberley Hemmings-Jarrett, assistant teaching professor of business and assistant teaching professor of social science, Penn State Abington.
- Melanie Miller Foster, associate teaching professor of international agriculture, University Park.
- Dylan Paré, assistant professor of education, University Park.
- Tiffany Petricini, associate teaching professor of communications, Penn State Erie, The Behrend College.
- Dawn Pfeifer Reitz, associate teaching professor in communication arts and sciences, Penn State Berks.
- Seth Powless, assistant teaching professor of business, Penn State Beaver.
- Emily Rimland, interim head of Library Learning Services, Penn State University Libraries.
- Stuart Selber, professor of English, University Park.
- Mary Ann Smith, lecturer in biology, Penn State Schuylkill.
Committee members serve staggered two-year terms to ensure continuity and a fresh influx of ideas.
