Entrance to Major Requirements
Students who intend to major in Computer Science and are admitted as first-year students are placed in a pre-major status.

Computer Science program at Abington has two options: General option and Data Science option. When choosing Computer Science major, students are required to choose one of these options.
Students can declare the Computer Science major (CMPAB) with General option upon successful completion of the following:
- have earned a C or better in each of the following courses: MATH 140, MATH 141, CMPSC 121/131, and CMPSC 122/132.
- have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
Computer Science Program Curriculum with General Option
Students can declare the Computer Science major (CMPAB) with Data Science option upon successful completion of the following:
- have earned a C or better in each of the following courses: MATH 140, MATH 141, CMPSC 131, and CMPSC 132.
- have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
