Trauma and Advanced Strategies for Educators
Children and families throughout the country have experienced trauma which impacts the brain, bodies, behaviors and academic achievement of students. Participants will define trauma and understand the societal impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES). They will identify brain triggers that may be seen in themselves and school environment for themselves as the adult. Then, participants will closely and actively examine the concepts of triggers that can occur throughout the day for students. They will then learn the about the importance of self-regulation to be able to practice co-regulation with students. Once the skills are identified, the focus of this hands-on workshop will be to develop a plan to bring back into their lives so they can remain regulated and understand how to promote these concepts with children.
