In this class, you will have the opportunity to explore a variety of media, including pen and ink, acrylic paints, and pastels. Put your creative problem solving skills and inventive use of tools and materials to work! Our thought-provoking projects can help you find inspiration for your artwork. Gain important insights for a portfolio presentation and interview process. This is a great course for any students interested in pursuing careers in the arts.

This camp focuses on:

  • Fostering and managing artistic skills needed to create a portfolio
  • Experimenting with a variety of art materials and techniques
  • Learning more about art as a college major or profession
  • Participating in activities like self-portraits, landscapes, still-life, etc.

Instructor

Cristin Harrington

Cristin has been a camp instructor for many years now. This will be her 9th year at Penn State Abington! Originally from Flourtown, Cristin studied Art Education at the Tyler School of Art and is in her 16th year teaching art in the Philadelphia School District. Her hobbies include coaching and playing soccer, basketball, history and art.
