Penn State Abington will showcase the works of six promising high school artists and their instructor/mentors at a new exhibit beginning Feb. 13.
The faculty of the Abington Art Program has partnered with several local high schools to present the exhibit in the Woodland Gallery through March 23. An opening reception for the artists will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Feb. 15, in the Woodland Gallery at the campus' Woodland Building.
Esperanza Academy Charter High School in Philadelphia will be represented by Kim Torres and Mariela Ramirez-Perez and their instructor, Amy Diaz Newman. Claudia Mezey and Jacob Jordan will exhibit their work alongside their mentor David Love, all from Germantown Academy in Fort Washington; and Jenkintown High School students Alex McGady and Natalia Siguenza, and their instructor, Jason Slowik, also will contribute pieces to the show.
