Steven Korman to speak at Penn State Abington's spring commencement

Approximately 240 students will earn their degrees at Penn State Abington’s spring 2011 commencement ceremony at 10 a.m., Friday, May 13, in the Athletic Building. The keynote speaker will be Steven Korman, CEO of Korman Communities, who will deliver a speech about the definition of success.

Korman graduated from Penn State in 1962 with a degree in business administration. His company -- a 500-employee, fourth-generation Philadelphia area real estate company formed more than a century ago by Korman’s grandfather -- is now run by Korman and his three sons.

The original extended-stay concept -- short-term, furnished apartments in a traditional multi-family residential setting -- was created by Korman more than 40 years ago. It has evolved to become an innovative residence hybrid embraced by both the corporate and private travelers, as well as investors. Today, Korman Communities operates throughout the eastern United States with plans to expand to Los Angeles and London.
