Digital Media and Photoshop: Pictures, Photography and the Power of Photoshop

Are you interested in learning how to make one-of-a-kind creations using digital media? Become a digital artist and join us for this hands-on interactive camp where students will spend their day learning and creating using computers, cameras, and programs. Students will immerse themselves in the world of digital media. The primary focus of this camp will be the basics of Photoshop for beginners and intermediate users. Students will spend part of the week working in the One Button Studio to learn how to record and produce pictures using green screen technology all while incorporating elements of excellent photography.

Topics include:

  • Creating original 2D graphics and design projects
  • Customizing and optimizing images
  • Understanding basic techniques for making quality compositions
  • Using tutorials and web searches to advance skills
  • Practicing the basics of photography and video elements to produce unique and amazing effects

Exercises include choosing from a variety of projects such as creating a small portfolio, photo collage, and printing a one-of-a-kind poster as a final project.

Meet Your Instructor:

Lisa Morris

Lisa is a Penn State graduate in Administration of Justice. Currently she is a professor at Penn State Abington teaching a wide variety of courses including Introduction to Forensic Science.  Her passion for trying to figure things out and solve puzzles has resulted in developing attention-grabbing and thought-provoking crime scene activities for all types of students. She is a mom to a very busy boy, and has taught a number of different camps and workshops for over 10 years.  Her teaching philosophy is that learning really can be fun and interesting incorporating hands-on interactive activities to promote critical thinking. Fun fact: Her current obsessions include photography and Photoshop.
