Final plans to renovate the Woodland Building on the Penn State Abington campus were approved by the Board of Trustees Committee on Finance, Business and Capital Planning today (Nov. 21).
Penn State's Board of Trustees Friday (March 15) approved room and board rates for the 2013-14 academic year. The average room and board rate, which includes a standard double room and the most common meal plan, will be $4,685 a semester, a 4.23 percent increase over 2012-13. The increase addresses a projected rise in food and utilities expenses, as well as necessary maintenance, facility renewal and strategic needs.
Penn State's Board of Trustees on Jan. 18 approved the appointment of Spillman Farmer Architects of Bethlehem, Pa., for the Woodland Building renovation at Penn State Abington. Dale Hollenbach, Abington chief operating officer, said the project will be completed in phases and includes a complete renovation of three chemistry laboratories as well as upgrades and repairs to the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system. The roof, windows and bathroom facilities also will be repaired or replaced.
